Located along the Orange County coast, Newport Beach has about 84,000 year-round residents and 100,000 during the summer.  Just 14 miles from Disneyland, 20 miles south of Long Beach, 50 miles south of Los Angeles, and 64 miles west of Palm Springs.

You wil find at Newport Beach a mix of golden beaches, secure community lifestyles, and sun-sparkling water of the Pacific Ocean and Newport Bay.   Boating is popular here, and Newport Harbor is famous for being one of the world's largest small boat areas.

A familiar sight is the evening lights on the water from the Balboa Pavilion on Balboa Peninsula. Enjoy a temperate climate here, where temperatures average below 80 in the summer and in the 60's in the winter.  Many beaches range from the sheltered, family-oriented beach of Balboa Bay, to the infamous "Wedge" for surfers at Newport Beach Municipal Beach.

The city is bordered to the west by Huntington Beach at the Santa Ana River, on the north side by Costa Mesa, John Wayne Airport, and Irvine (including UC Irvine), and on the east side by Crystal Cove State Park.
